Why Choose Personal Protective Equipment

Why Choose PPE

High-quality PPE helps keep you and everyone around you safe. Whenever you are in contact with another person, there is a risk of spreading diseases, bacteria, and other harmful pathogens. They often travel through droplets that land on your hands, linger in the air, or fall on other surfaces, like apparel, counters, or electronics. When you or someone else comes into contact with that droplet, the bacteria, virus, or disease spreads. Without protection, it can become exponential.

By eliminating the potential for contagion, safety equipment, like a face mask or respirator, come to the rescue. They work to promote safety by blocking and trapping harmful particles that could otherwise continue to spread. In this way, wearing protection, practicing good hygiene, and social distancing when appropriate can promote safety and health.

Why Everyone Needs Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

There are nearly limitless personal and business applications for a mask or respirator. When worn properly, they provide the necessary safety and protection everyone needs.

Individuals

Having a supply of disposable PPE is important for everyone. Whether you are going out to shop, heading back into work, or enjoying a walk around the neighborhood, these items give you safety and peace of mind. For those with immunocompromised loved ones, preexisting health conditions, or advanced age, this is crucial. If you need to board a plane or visit an elderly loved one, your medically-certified mask will give you the confidence to navigate through life — without fear of spreading or catching pathogens.

Businesses

As a business, prioritizing safety and protection is also essential. Any thriving shop, orthodontic practice, school, restaurant, gym, or salon all require healthy staff. Masks work to prevent contamination in the food industry, contagiousness in crowded offices, and infection when a doctor must see a patient. By integrating the finest-quality face mask and respirator options, you can protect your team, promote safety, and keep your business running smoothly.

Effective Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Online, there are thousands of counterfeit safety products that are for sale. However, choosing one of these can be the difference between staying healthy or getting sick. Our highly-effective selection of face masks and respirators work by using both electrostatic and physical barriers. Unlike fabrics found in apparel, nonwoven polypropylene fabrics have a smaller micron diameter and carry an electric charge. This ensures that fewer harmful particles pass through the layers. And, those that do pass through are contained with electrostatic energy. Safety mechanisms like these are found in every effective and medically-certified face mask.

While a counterfeit surgical mask may seem to be safe, appearances can be deceiving. A counterfeit option that is not certified by a trusted organization does not offer the same protection as one of our products. Counterfeits may sell a large quantity of PPE at a low price. However, they fail to provide the safety and protection you need. Instead of electrostatic and physical filtration, a counterfeit will rely solely on physical filtration — which is significantly less effective. In addition, counterfeits may use subpar materials — like paper-based filters or woven cloth fabrics. Unlike our materials, these are not hydrophobic, and they often have wider weaves.

If you are unsure if your mask or respirator has the safety certifications you need, there are several ways to test its effectiveness at home. Try one of these simple at-home tests to determine if your mask is protecting you.

Breath Test

A proper mask will effectively filter out airborne particles. While wearing your mask, try to blow out a candle, match, or lighter. If you can easily blow out the candle, your mask is not filtering out those airborne particles, or in this case, filtering air. We recommend that you find a replacement.

Water Test

Every high-quality mask has a hydrophobic (water-resistant) outer layer for safety. This ensures that aerosol droplets are not inhaled through the layers. To perform this water test, turn your mask so the outermost layer is on top. Pour some water into it. If water seeps through and dampens the inner layer, this is a counterfeit mask.

Fire Test

Many counterfeits will use paper-based filters as the inside layer of a mask. In comparison, we use a meltblown polypropylene layer. If you want to test a spare 3-ply surgical mask, cut it open. You will see an inner layer. Over the sink, light a tiny piece of that layer with a match or lighter. If the piece burns, it is likely a paper- or fabric-based filter, which is not ideal for your safety. If it melts, like a candle or plastic, it is a genuine mask filter.

Medical Certifications

Our top-quality products are medically certified — with high safety ratings and excellent quality control. All of the products in our shop are certified to have 95% or greater filtration. This level of protection is the gold standard for health-related applications. Recommended by the CDC, approved products with 95% filtration have been used to prevent the spread of many diseases over the years, like influenza. A mask that is medically certified is considered a medical device. They work to most effectively block harmful pathogens and contain the spread of disease using physical and electrostatic filtration.

The safety certifications that our face mask and respirator hold are a badge of honor and trust that we are proud to have. Receiving these certifications is a highly involved process. Several third-party accredited facilities must rigorously test our PPE. They ensure that our products meet strict standards for certifications and are in compliance with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, American Society for Testing and Materials, and National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory regulations.

An issue as important as public health deserves our full devotion. That is why we employ the strictest quality-control measures to embrace our commitment to excellence. We know that every safety certification we have gives customers the peace of mind they deserve. With our selection of products, we are proud to deliver medical-grade safety and protection for every customer.

Quality and Quantity

Quality and Quantity

When it comes to safety equipment, both the quality and quantity matter. We always aim to provide the most effective protection — with regular and bulk purchasing options that align with your needs.

Quick Tips and Tricks

These days, we are more concerned about our safety and health than ever. However, since many people are not used to regularly wearing a mask, user errors happen all too often. If you want to get the most protection out of your gear, here are five helpful tips to keep in mind for enhanced safety.

Wear Your Mask Properly

Wear Your Mask Properly

A properly-fitting mask has the highest safety rating, so take time to adjust and fit your PPE before you wear it out of your home. With a 3-ply mask, remove any gaps and use the bendable nosepiece. For N95 respirators, adjust the nose clip and ensure a tight seal.

Have a Supply of Masks on Hand

If you are out and about, always carry a spare mask or two. When damaged, soiled, or wet, a mask is neither safe nor comfortable. For everyone’s protection, always have a replacement on hand for yourself. Plus, you can come to the rescue with a spare mask if someone else needs a new one.

After removing your mask, we recommend replacing it. If you cannot replace it, then remove the mask and place it in a clean paper bag or leave it on a clean paper towel until you are ready to put it back on. Do not hang it from your ear, wear it on your chin, or store it in an apparel pocket.

Treat a Used Mask as if It Were Contaminated

Electrostatic masks work by both blocking harmful particles and trapping them securely in the mask. With that in mind, try to only handle a used mask by its earloops. After touching your mask, always wash your hands thoroughly and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or face.

Take Care of Your Skin

Wearing a mask or N95 respirator exposes your skin to heat and humidity. Use non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging) moisturizers, makeup, sunscreen, or other products to prevent uncomfortable acne, irritation, or rashes.

By following these quick tips, you can enhance the safety of your mask or respirator and stay healthy.

Quick Tips and Tricks

These days, we are more concerned about our safety and health than ever. However, since many people are not used to regularly wearing a mask, user errors happen all too often. If you want to get the most protection out of your gear, here are five helpful tips to keep in mind for enhanced safety.

How should my mask or respirator fit?

Many people choose to wear a loosely-fitted mask. However, when a mask fits improperly,
aerosols can easily escape and enter. Research by the American Chemical Society found that a
loose, improper fit can reduce the effectiveness of a cloth mask by upwards of 50%. On top of
this, user error (re-wearing a disposable mask, touching the inner layer, etc.) can additionally
weaken the protection of a mask. While it may feel more restrictive, a snugly-fitting, medically-
certified mask is the best in terms of safety.

When you wear your N95 respirator, ensure that the seal is secure. When wearing your 3-ply
surgical mask, avoid gaps and adjust the bendable nosepiece for a snug fit. Do not compromise
the safety of your gear with user error.

How do I dispose of my face masks or respirators?

A used mask or respirator is a kind of disposable medical waste. For everyone’s safety, please
do not recycle these items as it can contaminate the recycling and pose a threat to health. The
FDA recommends that you place your used PPE in a plastic bag and throw it away. Afterward,
wash your hands.

What level of protection and safety is high for me?

Everybody is different. While we recommend a surgical 3-ply mask as a minimum level of
everyday protection, you may benefit from an N95 respirator depending on a variety of factors.
Before purchasing a specific type of mask, consider if you have preexisting conditions, an
immunocompromised family member or friend, as well as if you are going to be in high- or
medium-risk situations like flying, going to the salon, or attending a large event.
If you only have a cloth mask or a counterfeit surgical mask, we recommend that you switch to
something more substantial for your safety. However, at the end of the day, any protection is
better than skipping a mask altogether.
